Robert Oster - Vanpen 86 | Vancouver Fountain Pen Shop Collaboration

Today’s fountain pen ink is an exclusive ink between Robert Oster and the Vancouver Pen Shop!

Let’s get into it.

Vanpen86 is a lovely cool brown colour. In the large pools, the colour is quite a dark chocolatey shade (especially on that creamy Midori paper), but in writing the it leans to a much lighter, and softer colour. That difference in shade is very present when writing with the ink, as it has absolutely gorgeous shading.

Here’s an example of writing with the ink using a Lamy Safari with a medium nib. The ink performs very well, no problems from me.

If you’re liking this colour but aren’t close to Vancouver, the closest ink in my current collection (and what I immediately thought of) is Oyster Hour from Ferris Wheel Press, though that’s only on Tomoe River paper.
