Kyo Iro - Cherry Blossom of Keage

Today’s ink is a contender for my favourite pink ink.

The ink is a beautiful, desaturated hot pink ink, featuring shading that’s noticeable even with an extra fine nib!

(Kyo Iro - Cherry Blossom of Keage, swatched on a Col-O-Ring swatch card (design is a Yoseka Stationery stamp).

This ink looks great in swatches, painting and watered down, and especially in writing. I especially like the inks on the Tomoe River and Midori paper (for that added warm tones). The ink behaved well on all the papers it was swatched on, and the flow seemed perfectly fine to me.

Also, Kyo Iro inks are funny to me because when they dry in these large swatches, it almost looks like the ink is coagulating ???

As you can see in the handwriting sample I’ve yeeted in from my Instagram, the ink is perfectly legible in an extra fine nib. And as noted from earlier, the shading is even present which is a lovely surprise :)
