Ferris Wheel Press - Hampton Harbour Sage | Woven Warmth Collection
Today’s fountain pen ink is from Ferris Wheel Press, as part of their recent Woven Warmth collection. All the inks in the trio are shimmery, coming in quite the gorgeous shades. The other two inks are a red named Cabernet on the Lake, and a pale brown named Majestic Maple Syrup.
The ink definitely looks different on various papers. It’s much lighter on Kokuyo, Midori, and Rhodia paper, while on Tomoe River it darkens and is more saturated. The amount of shimmer is quite generous, and the total package is quite gorgeous. Like with other shimmer inks, I would definitely only ink this one in a medium nib or larger, just to avoid potential clogging.
Here’s a little sample video of the ink in action, with a Speedball monoline dip pen, and a glass dip pen on Tomoe River paper.
I think the ink with a dip pen is lovely - seeing the contrast between where the ink is pooling and elsewhere is gorgeous, and really shows a bit of depth in the ink.
Also, here’s a close up of the swatch on Tomoe River paper at an angle with some indirect sunlight, so you’re more accurately able to gauge the shimmer.
It does seem similar to Moss Park Green on certain papers, though with lots of shimmer. The ink is much more saturated and brighter on the Tomoe River paper than Moss Park Green, however.
