Ferris Wheel Press - April Showers

A photo of the 38mL bottle of 'April Showers' by Ferris Wheel Press, in front of the packaging box.

April Showers from Ferris Wheel Press is a beautiful grey fountain pen ink, that features tons of silver shimmer, and a decent amount of shading.

Let’s get into it.

This ink was one of the first fountain pen inks I ever owned! A gift from my partner, I was so, so excited because I had recently decided to start using fountain pens instead of my staple Pilot Frixions and Muji ballpoints. I always liked to use grey pens, so my partner picked me this ink when I was humming and hawing in the store.

The ink feels so stormy and dynamic - especially looking at how the ink properties come out on the Kokuyo paper vs. the Tomoe River paper. In my TWSBI Eco with an M nib I had no issues whatsoever, though I made a rookie mistake and tried putting it in my TWSBI Diamond Mini with an EF nib, which clogged very fast. That was a user error, haha! Since then I haven’t dared put a shimmer in an EF nib.
