Diamine - Cinnabun | Inkvent 2023
Hello! For day nineteen of the Diamine Inkvent 2023, we have another scented ink - Cinnabun.
Let’s check some swatches out.
Cinnabun is a unique shade of brown. It’s a pale brown colour that honestly doesn’t seem super exciting - in fact, the colour reads kind of flat to me. It’s a desaturated brown - and it does have… a bit of shading. The ink is prettiest when used on the Midori paper, which turns it into something totally different. The yellow cream paper seems to turn the ink into this rich dark brown colour - something akin to milk chocolate, almost.
Still speaking of the Midori paper, and similarly to the previous scented ink, Sweet Dreams, this ink also performed really well on said paper. The only spot of feathering is with the glass dip pen on the left page, though I always swatch heavier to try and show the various aspects of the colour.
I don’t think it’s fair to judge an ink purely how it writes on one paper, so I would probably pass on this ink, even if it wasn’t scented.
