Diamine - Upon a Star | Inkvent 2022
Day 13 of the Diamine 2022 inkvent calendar is a spectacular chameleon fountain pen ink, chock full of sheen and colour shifting shimmer.
Let’s get into it.
This ink is a sure winner from the calendar. It’s a deep blue colour, like the colour of denim when you look at it on the Rhodia dot grid paper. There’s a generous amount of red sheening, crazy visible on Tomoe River and Midori paper, but even visible on the Kokuyo paper (which doesn’t happen often!)
The chameleon comes out in the shimmer, which seems predominantly a mint green colour, but tilts to a purple and a pink colour.
Excited to use a sparkly ink from the calendar, I’ve recently inked up my TWSBI Eco with an <M> nib with Upon a Star. I’ve filled an entry in my newest Ink Journal, which is a small gridded Midori notebook. as you can see here.
I think this ink is really fun, and really sparkly. When the light hits it, there’s just so much to look at. The red sheening tends to be more prominent, whereas the shimmer (like with most shimmer inks) does require you to kind of rotate and twirl the barrel in order for the shimmer to mix up.
