Diamine - Arctic Blast | Inkvent 2022
Day 20 of the Diamine 2022 inkvent calendar is beautiful and exciting chameleon and sheening fountain pen ink.
Let’s get into it.
Arctic Blast is a fun colour for the calendar! It’s a bright royal blue, and has a ton of sheening and chameleon shimmer. The shimmer has a colour shift effect from a minty green to pink, and when sheening can appear pretty purple. The sheening is intense and pink, and I can’t wait to ink all the large nibs with this one. Just be sure to clean your pen out regularly to avoid clogs!
Here’s a larger handwriting / lettering sample using a Speedball nib holder, and a monoline B nib. I find the ink to be similar to Diamine Skull & Roses, and Diamine Jalur Gemilang, in the base colour as well as the sheening overload (which I adore). Arctic Blast, however, has that beautiful chameleon shimmer.
In terms of finding a more accessible ink, Arctic Blast has you covered, as Skull & Roses and Jalur Gemilang are exclusive to Germany and Malaysia, respectively. However, the other two don’t have shimmer, so if the sparkles aren’t your thing you may want to opt for one of them.
